August 24: Shangri-la Development Bank has appointed Suyog Shrestha as its chief executive officer. A meeting of the board of directors of the bank on August 24 decided to appoint Shrestha to the post.
Forty-six years old Shrestha from Chainpur of Sankhwasabha was the CEO of Ace Development Bank before his appointment as CEO of Shangri-la Development Bank, according to a statement issued by the bank.
Shrestha completed his bachelor’s degree in management from Tribhuvan University and then earned a chartered accountant’s degree from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, New Delhi.
Shrestha, who started his banking career from Himalayan Bank in 2000 as a junior officer later got the responsibility of the bank’s internal audit department chief. He assumed a managerial role after being appointed as deputy manager of Nepal Investment Bank in 2005. He then was appointed as senior manager of Vibor Development Bank in 2009 and deputy general manager of Ace Development Bank after that.
Subsequently, the assumed the responsibilities of acting CEO and then CEO of the bank.
