SJVN Nepal projects has contributed Rs 10 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to aid recovery efforts following rain-induced disasters in the last week of September.
Prashant Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of SJVN Nepal Projects, presented a cheque to the Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli at the Prime Minister's Residence in Kathmandu on Monday, October 7. Sharma was accompanied by O D Chaudhary, Chief Financial Officer, Gaurav Sood, Deputy General Manager and Sujit Jha, the Company Secretary.
“SJVN, an Indian government-owned entity, through its fully owned subsidiary SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company (SAPDC) made the donation as a part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives,” the company said in a statement.
SJVN is constructing 900 MW Arun-3 Hydro Electric Project in Nepal through SAPDC and 669 MW Lower Arun Hydro Electric Project through another subsidiary SJVN Lower Arun Power Development Company (SLPDC). It has a portfolio of around 3000 MW in Nepal.
