Rainfall has been recorded in various parts of the country, including the Kathmandu Valley and hill areas, since last night due to the combined influence of westerly and local winds.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, moisture-laden winds entering from the Bay of Bengal have also contributed to the current weather conditions.
The Kathmandu Valley is experiencing rain by the time this news report was prepared.
The Division reported that skies are partly to generally cloudy across the country today, May 4. Light to moderate rain, accompanied by lightning, is likely in the hill regions, especially in Koshi and Lumbini provinces.
Similar conditions are expected to persist into the evening, with light to moderate rain and lightning possible in some hill areas and isolated parts of the rest of the country.
Meanwhile, climate expert Binod Pokharel wrote on social media that big convective clouds are producing heavy rainfall in some parts of Gandaki, Bagmati and Koshi provinces. According to Pokharel, more rain is forecast for these areas while Madhesh Province is expected to get good rain today as ‘forecast looks favorable’. – With inputs from RSS
