June 17: A meeting between officials of CNI and the delegates led by Koi Yung-Jin, Ambassador of South Korea was held on June 16 at secretariat office of CNI. The meeting was aimed to discuss the development and continuation of economic relationship between two nations.
Speaking in the meeting, CNI President Hari Bhakta Sharma exemplified the success achieved by South Korea in the sectors of technology and infrastructure development in the world. He added," Nepal is falling backward in economic development due to lack of technological knowledge and infrastructural development. Due to which Nepal is stressing in bringing Korean FDI and technology. For this, CNI collaborating with the government is attempting to improvise Foreign Investment and Transfer of Technology Act (FITTA) and Industrial Enterprises Act (IEA)."
According to Sharma, Nepali workers are benefiting from the skills and knowledge gained in Korea. He opined that Nepali manpower could get additional benefit if Korea could launch various training programs in Nepal. He further added that mutual co-operation between commercial organizations of both nations is essential to expand and improve the diplomatic relationship of the two nations.
Koi Yung-Jin, Ambassador of South Korea informed of working towards expansion of mutual relationship between two nations. In order to take the relation to next level, he suggested of exchanging delegates of Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) and CNI to establish commercial relation between the two federations.
