The price of gold has increased for the second concecutive day in the domestic market of Nepal on Thursday, May 22.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association, the price of the precious yellow metal surged by Rs 1,700 per tola (11.66 grams) on Thursday to reach Rs 191,500. On Wednesday, the price had surged by a big margin of Rs 5,000 per tola.
Gold was traded at Rs 189,800 per tola on Wednesday, the federation said.
The federation fixes the prices of gold and silver in Nepal based on the prices in the international market. The price of gold is USD 3,355 US per ounce in the international market on Thursday.
Tensions in the Middle East and the Russia-Ukraine war has sent the price of gold skyrocketing since last year.
Meanwhile, the federation has set the price of silver at Rs 2,025 per tola on Thursday. ---
