April 18: Syakar Trading Company, the authorised distributor of Honda two-wheelers in Nepal, has launched the Honda Hornet 160R motorcycle in the Nepali market. The bike was unveiled in an event at Royal Beach Camp, Kurintar amid media invitees and delegates from Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI). According to the company, Honda CB Hornet 160R is a sports bike which one can enjoy riding with optimum speed and comfort. Company claimed that with the addition of Honda Eco Technology (HET), Hornet is the motorcycle that ensures fun riding with ease and comfort.
“The new Honda motorcycle has a modern touch and is specially designed for the youth,” says the company in a press statement. Its headlight with upward facing side indicators is sharp and edgy. It also contains X- shaped LED light. The tank is masked with carbon pattern tank cover with Honda’s symbol over it. This motorcycle also contains fully digital meter display which boosts the look of motorcycle. “Similarly, it has 140 mm rear tyre that are new to the Honda line-up,” informs the company. Hornet 160R has a powerful 163cc engine that gives extra thrust and delivers good low end torque. The single cylinder engine develops 15.66 bhp at 8500 rpm of maximum power and 14.76 NM at 6500 rpm of maximum torque. The engine in the motorcycle is equipped with a counter balance that produces the power in the compression of 10:1 ratio. The mileage of the motorcycle is 60 kmpl and top speed is 110 kmph.
It is available in five different colors. The disc break is connected on both front and back of the motorcycle with the combi breaking mechanism. The suspension at front is telescopic whereas rear has a monoshock suspension.
CB Hornet in Pokhara
Meanwhile, Kunwar Brothers and Sons, the authorized distributor of Honda two-wheelers for Pokhara, has started the selling of Honda CB Hornet 160R amid a program. YS Gulariya, senior vice-chairman of HMSI started the sales of the new Honda motorcycle. According to Chandra Kunwar, Managing Director of Kunwar Brothers and Sons, the motorcycle is priced at Rs 260,000. He informs that the customers can get discount of Rs 4,000 to Rs 1, 00,000 through the SMS service. The company is providing 20 percent discount on servicing and 10 percent discount on spare parts for five years.
