May 5: The Nepal Airlines Corporation is all set to fly to Japan for three days a week from July 4.
The national flag carrier of Nepal will fly to Osaka as the flights to the Japanese city resumes after a long gap of 12 years. The NAC will fly to Osaka with its two Airbus A-330 wide-body aircraft. The flights will be scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The flight to Osaka from Kathmandu will be six and a half hours long. NAC used to operate flights to Osaka via Shanghai till 2007. But the NAC had stopped the flights to Japan citing lack of aircraft. Now, NAC will have direct flights to Japan.
The NAC is also planning to fly to the Japanese capital. NAC has already received the AOC from Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal for flight operation to Japan.
The one-way airfare for Kathmandu-Osaka flight is Rs 45,000 while the round-trip fare will cost Rs 80,000, according to the NAC.
