Nepal’s stock market gained for the second day in a row on Monday, June 30, with the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index climbing 0.35% to close at 2,631.48 points.
The benchmark index had surged 1.02% on Sunday after three consecutive days of losses.
Among the major sub-indices, the Sensitive Index and Float Index each gained 0.43%, while the Sensitive Float Index rose 0.53%.
But, daily turnover declined further on the second trading day of the week to Rs 6.38 billion from Rs 7.12 billion the previous day. A total of 14,172,535 shares were traded through 63,371 transactions.
Of the 248 listed companies that were traded on the day, 145 advanced and 103 declined.
Rapti Hydro and General Construction Ltd (RHGCL) led the gainers, climbing 9.97%. Dhaulagiri Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd (DLBS) followed with a 9.80% rise and Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd (WNLB) gained 9.16%.
But, Panchakanya Mai Hydropower Ltd (PMHPL) became the biggest loser, falling 4.92%.
Of the 13 sectoral indices, nine closed higher. The Manufacturing and Processing Index led with a 1.63% rise after being the only sector in the red the previous day. The Others Index saw the steepest decline of 0.36%.
NEPSE’s total market capitalization reached Rs 4,384.42 billion at the end of the trading Monday, up from Rs 4,369.1 billion Sunday.
