The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped by 15.93 points on Thursday, December 5, closing at 2,734.93 points, following a 24.97-point decline the previous day.
The week began with the secondary market index dropping by 9.99 points on Sunday, followed by gains of 19.97 and 17.80 points on Monday and Tuesday.
Overall, the index declined by 13.12 points this week. Last week, the index had declined by 68.35 points, reversing a gain of 68.60 points the week before.
The last trading day of the week saw a fall in trading activity, with daily turnover falling to Rs 8.36 billion compared to Rs 9.13 billion the previous day.
A total of over 16 million shares were traded across 87,476 transactions.
The Sensitive, Float, and Sensitive Float indices all closed in the red, with declines of 1.07 percent, 0.93 percent, and 1.10 percent, respectively.
Khanikhola Hydropower Co. Ltd. (KKHC) was the top gainer of the day, with its share price rising by 9.98 percent.
Super Madi Hydropower Limited (SMHL) and Manushi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MLBS) followed closely, gaining 9.95 percent and 8.55 percent, respectively.
On the other hand, Support Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (SMB) was the top loser, with its share price falling by 8.37 percent.
Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) led the turnover list, followed by NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) and Life Insurance Corporation (Nepal) Limited (LICN).
Out of the 13 NEPSE sub-indices, only two ended in green. The Trading Index recorded the highest increase of 3.67 percent, while the Hotels and Tourism Index posted the largest drop of 3.63 percent.
