The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index surged 15.83 points on Monday, November 25, to close at 2,683.24, following a 13.03-point decline on Sunday.
Last week, the index dropped by 68.35 points, reversing the previous week's gain of 68.60 points.
The daily turnover, however, continued to decline on the second trading day of the week. It totalled around Rs 6.34 billion, compared to around Rs 7.73 billion the previous day.
Over 12 million shares were traded through 65,824 transactions during Monday's session.
The Sensitive, Float, and Sensitive Float indices closed in the green, increasing by 0.39 percent, 0.51 percent, and 0.38 percent, respectively.
Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SLBSL) was the top gainer of the day, hitting the upper circuit limit. Best Finance Company Ltd. (BFC) and Super Madi Hydropower Limited (SMHL) closely followed, each seeing an increase of 9.91 percent in their share prices.
On the contrary, Ngadi Group Power Ltd. (NGPL) became the biggest loser, with its share price hitting the lower circuit limit.
However, despite suffering the day's largest loss, NGPL topped the list in terms of turnover, followed by Best Finance Company Ltd. (BFC) and Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS).
Out of the 13 NEPSE sub-indices, two closed in the red — the Manufacturing and Processing Index, which dropped by 0.23 percent, and the Mutual Fund Index, which saw a 0.32 percent decline.
The Finance Index posted the largest gain, rising by 2.27 percent.
