Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has raised the prices of diesel, kerosene, and petrol, with the new rates coming into effect from Sunday, June 1.
According to a decision made by the corporation’s board of directors, the prices of diesel and kerosene have been increased by Rs 1 per liter, while petrol has gone up by Rs 2 per liter.
In contrast to the hike in fuel prices, NOC has reduced the cost of aviation fuel. The price for domestic airlines has been lowered by Rs 3 per liter, while international carriers will now pay USD 22 less per kiloliter.
Following the adjustment, diesel and kerosene will be sold at Rs 140.50, Rs 142, and Rs 143 per liter in Category I, II, and III areas respectively. Similarly, petrol prices have been revised to Rs 156.50, Rs 158, and Rs 159 per liter for the same categories.
NOC classifies Category I as areas within a 15-kilometer radius of its offices or depots in Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj. Category II includes Surkhet and Dang, while Category III covers Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal.
The new price of aviation fuel for domestic carriers has been fixed at Rs 118 per liter. For international carriers, aviation fuel will now cost USD 901 per kiloliter in Kathmandu, USD 721 in Pokhara, and USD 706 in Bhairahawa.
