September 19: The procedure to operate RBB Merchant Banking, promoted by Rastriya Banijya Bank, has been started. Issuing a press statement, it has been informed that the RBB Merchant Banking is being operated in order to provide additional support to the capital market of the country.
Presently, the paid-up capital of the merchant banking is Rs 100 million. According to the statement, the merchant banking company has already been registered in company registrar office and is in the process of obtaining licence from Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). The bank informed of starting operation immediately after obtaining licence from SEBON.
“The people resided across the country will be benefited by the opening of the RBB Merchant Banking as the services that is, at present, accessible in the urban areas will be expanded to 67 districts of the country through 169 branches of the RBB Bank,” reads the statement.
