December 8: An earthquake of magnitude 5.2 was recorded in Dolakha on Friday morning. According to the Department of Mines and Geology, the quake with epicenter in Jiri was an aftershock of the devastating earthquake of 2015. The quake was recorded at 8.36 am, informed National Seismological Center’s seismologist Chintan Timilsina. Areas around the epicenter experienced a severe jolt due to the aftershock. Altogether 487 aftershocks measuring more than magnitude 4 in the richter scale have been recorded so far following the Gorkha earthquake.
