NT Starts Service in Remote Areas of Mugu

April 19:  Nepal Telecom (NT) has started its GSM mobile service through V-SAT technology in remote areas of Mugu district. According to the state-owned company, it started its service by linking the V-SAT technology operated in Mugum Karmaarong Rural Municipality of Mugu via Sagarmatha Satellite Earth Station at Balambu, Kathmandu.

This is the first time telecommunication service has been provided to the remote areas near China border in the district. Residents of the place used to walk for three hours to get the service earlier.

With the operation of the service, the locals residing here can benefit from mobile service at their own home. The company believes around 200 people and the tourists visiting the area will be benefitted by the service. They can easily connect with the people of other areas through GSM mobile service.
