Paddy Production Expected to Increase in Saptari

November 25: Paddy production is expected to grow by seven percent in Saptari district. As the area of paddy cultivation has increased, the production may improve by almost seven percent in Saptari, according to Agriculture Knowledge Centre in Saptari.

A total of 70,000 hectares of land is arable, of which 63,500 hectares have been planted with paddy this year. According to the centre, a total of 56,000 hectares of land were used for paddy cultivation last year, and the production stood at 154,000 metric tons.

Ram Avatar Yadav, an officer at the centre, said that the production this year may reach to almost 180,000 metric tons.
