Snowfall likely in the mountains today

January 9: The Weather Forecasting Division has said light snowfall is likely to occur in some places of the high mountainous region and light rain at few places of the mountainous region on Wednesday, according to a news report published by Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS). 
Similarly, the sky would remain partly cloudy in the mountainous region and generally fair in the rest of the country on Wednesday night.
“There is possibility of light rain at one or two places of the central and eastern region,” RSS quoted the division as saying. 
The weather will be partly cloudy in the western and eastern mountainous region and it will be generally fair in the rest of the country on Thursday. 
On Friday, the weather will be partly cloudy in the eastern mountainous region while remaining generally fair in the rest of the country. 
According to the division, light snowfall is likely to occur in some places of the high mountainous region and light rain at few places of the eastern mountainous region. 
Meanwhile, the temperature in the Kathmandu Valley has increased. The minimum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley was recorded at 4.5 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. It was 1.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. 
Although the minimum temperature has not dropped much more cold is felt as the day-time temperature has not increased, meteorologist at the Division, Sujan Subedi, told the state-run news agency. 
The Valley’s weather will see fluctuation for some more days, he added.
