Melamchi, a far-fetched dream

  47 sec to read

The interview with Kenichi Yokoyama, Nepal Country Director for the Asian Development Bank (ADB), was worth reading. Kathmandu denizens have been yearning for the completion of the Melamchi water drinking project in order to get a perennial supply of water. Now it seems that ADB is committed to supporting the construction of the Melamchi tunnel work and other parts of the project. It’s nice to know that the much-touted water project has got some boost and will be completed soon. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, as Yokoyama has assured that ADB is fully committed to providing the necessary support to the government of Nepal to complete the project by early 2016 or earlier.
