Simrik Air Begins Flying with Fixed Wings

Simrik Air, a popular company providing helicopter services has begun its commercial flights to the various destinations in the country with 19-seater Beechcraft 1900 aircraft. This is the first time the airline provided aviation services with a fixed wings aircraft. 
 
Simrik Air started its commercial operation with the mountain flight from February 10. It has also started its scheduled flights to Pokhara from February 13. Speaking at the press conference organised to announce the development, Rameshwor Thapa, Executive Chairman of Simrik Airl said the airline would start its scheduled flights to Simara and Bhairahawa soon. “We will be operating under the international flight safety standards with two flights soaring daily to Simara and one flight to Bhairahawa”, he said. The airline is currently operating four mountain flights and three service flights to Pokhara on daily basis. 
 
Simrik Air took over the struggling Guna Airlines last month with a capital of Rs 350 million. Guna Airlines, owned by Guna Group handed over the management to Simrik Air after its promoters went cash strapped due to trouble in their housing and real estate business. Simrik Air has bought 75 per cent stakes of Guna Airlines. Simrik bought the majority stake by clearing loans of Guna worth around Rs 305 million.
