NEW APPOINTMENTS
Baburam Sharma has been promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer from General Manager of Venture Hire Purchase Company owned by IME Group. Sharma, who joined Venture Hire Purchase as a Business Head three and a half years ago has worked in the IME Group for over a decade and a half. He holds Master’s degree in Economics and English from Tribhuvan University and has also received an EMBA.
Santosh Prasai, Senior Deputy CEO of Mahalaxmi Prabhu Life Insurance Company has been given responsibility as the Acting CEO of after Ramesh Kumar Bhattarai resigned from the post. Prasai was CEO of Prabhu Life Insurance before the merge with Mahalaxmi.
Kushal Jung Adhikari of Jyoti Bikash Bank has been given added responsibility as Head of Marketing, Brand, Corporate Communication & Research.Earlier, he was the Head of Branding & Corporate Communication.
Surya Bahadur Tamang has been given the responsibility as the Acting CEO of the Nepal Infrastructure Bank Limited after CEO Ram Krishna Khatiwada resigned from the bank.
Dipesh Lamsal, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has been given responsibility as the Acting Chief Executive Officer after CEO Bodh Raj Devkota stepped down one year prior to the completion of his tenure.
Mandip Luitel has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Global IME Capital Limited for a four-years term. Earlier, Luitel was Deputy CEO of Sanima Capital Limited. He brings over six years of experience in investment banking to Global IME Capital. An engineering graduate from Kathmandu University, he has also obtained qualifications from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Mumbai.
Raju Chettri has joined Sandwich Home Solution Pvt Ltd the as Chief Executive Officer. Earlier, he was Chief Executive Officer at MAW Enterprises.
Anirudh Chaudhary has joined Dusit Thani Himalayan Resort, Dhulikhel, as the Hotel Manager. Earlier, he was Assistant Manager - Revenue Management & Distribution at Lemon Tree Hotels.

Sanchit Bajracharya has been reappointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Prabhu Insurance Limited. Bajracharya holds an MBA from Tribhuvan University.
Prof Dr Jainuddin Ansari has been appointed as the Managing Director of Nepal Medical College (NMC). Earlier, Dr Ansari was a Board Member of NMC. He is also the Chairman of the National Medical College & Teaching Hospital, Birgunj.

Dev Raj Adhikari has completed his tenure as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nepal SBI Merchant Bank Ltd. He worked with Nepal SBI Bank for about 29 years.
CA Paras Raj Kandel has resigned as Deputy CEO of Jyoti Bikash Bank after Kapil Dhakal was promoted as the Chief Executive Officer of the development bank. The position of Chief Executive officer was lying vacant after Shree Chandra Bhatta stepped down from the post seven months before the completion of his four-year tenure.
ELECTED IN PUBLIC LIMITED COMPANIES
Manoj Kumar Goyal has been elected as the Chairman of NMB Bank Ltd representing the promoter shareholders. Similarly, Jeevan Kumar Katwal, Uttam Bhlon, Shirish Kumar Murarka, and Harishchandra Subedi have been elected as Board Directors. Furthermore, Sharmila Hardi Prakash has been nominated to the Board on behalf of foreign shareholder FMO (a Dutch Bank) in place of Niko Pijl.
Raman Nepal has been elected as the Chairman of Laxmi Sunrise Bank Ltd. He was earlier serving as the Chairman of the bank representing Citizen Investment Trust (CIT). He recently retired as the Executive Director of CIT. Similarly, Manoj Kumar Bhattarai, Swati Rungta and Dinesh Poudyal have also been elected as the Directors of the bank.

Upendra Paudyal has been elected as the President of Confederation of Banks and Financial Institutions (CBFIN). Paudyal takes the post which became vacant with the resignation of the founding president of the organization, Pawan Golyan. Poudyal is the chairman of Nabil Bank. Golyan, the outgoing chairman, resigned from the post saying that he had started to separate himself from the directorship of NMB Bank. Now he has indeed got himself out from the NMB Board where he was the Chairman till the recently held AGM.
GOVERNMENT MOVEMENTS
Vidushi Rana has been appointed as the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Iceland for Nepal. Rana is the Executive Director of Kiran Shoes Manufacturers (Goldstar Shoes).
Dr Manish Thapa has been appointed as Consul General of Costa Rica for Nepal.

Basyal has been appointed as Acting Registrar of Tribhuvan University after the Peshal Dahal completed his tenure. Similarly, Prof Dr Bhargava Dhital, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Science, has been appointed as Acting Rector.
Rupesh Koirala, a lawyer based in Biratnagar, has been appointed as the Attorney General of Koshi Province.
Utsav Dhungana has been appointed as the new General Manager of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). Dhungana is the Director of Baliyo Nepal Nutrition Initiative. Baliyo Nepal is sponsoring well in cricket and is working at the grassroots of Nepali cricket. The position of General Manager has been empty for the past six months following the resignation of Britant Khanal.
Maiya Kandel has been appointed as the Director of Employment Permit System (EPS) of Korea Branch by the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security.
Purushottam Khanal has tendered resignation from the post of Chairman of the Nepal Telecommunication Authority. Navraj Adhikari has been appointed as Acting Chairman until a new appointment is made in the position. Khanal has been accused of financial embezzlement in the procurement of the Mobile Data Management System (MDMS) and Telecommunication Traffic Monitoring and Fraud Control System (TERAMOCS).
Sanjeev Jha, General Manager of Dairy Development Corporation of Nepal, has been dismissed from the post.
Ram Krishna Subedi has been appointed as the Secretary of Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. He was previously serving as the Secretary of the National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission. Similarly, Communication Secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut has been transferred to the National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission.

Nepal Police DIG Arjun Chand Thakuri has resigned from the post of Tribhuvan International Airport. On January 12th, there was a scuffle between the police and the staff of the immigration office at the airport. The DIG Thakuri was on leave on the day of the incident. The TIA Security Office is under the leadership of the DIG.
