Erica Gurung (Karate) and Rohit Kumar Paudel (Cricket) were named Sportswoman and Sportsman of the Year at the NSJF Pulsar Sports Award 2080. At a ceremony organized by the Nepal Sports Journalist Forum (NSJF) on Friday, Erica was awarded for her achievements in women's sports, including a silver medal at the 19th Asian Games, while Rohit was recognized in men's sports.
Erica outperformed nominees from football, cricket, athletics, and kabaddi, while Rohit surpassed contenders from cricket, karate, football, and golf. Both winners received a Pulsar NS 200 motorbike. Kavita Bhatt (Volleyball) won the People's Choice Award with 56% of the votes, also receiving a Pulsar NS 200 motorbike.
Kushal Shrestha (Karate) was named Coach of the Year, recognized for his team's success at the 19th Asian Games and other international events. Hemant Pal (Weightlifting) was honored as Youth Player of the Year for his achievements, including three bronze medals at the Asian Junior Weightlifting Championships.
Palesha Govardhan received the NSJF Para Athlete Award, and Binayraj Pandey, former president of the Cricket Association of Nepal, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The women's kabaddi team, which won a bronze medal at the 19th Asian Games, was awarded Team of the Year.
