The price of gold in Nepal rose slightly on Friday, November 15, following a consecutive decline for five days.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (Fenegosida), the yellow metal became expensive by Rs 100 per tola (11.66 grams), with fine gold being traded at 160,100 per tola.
Gold’s record-breaking rally has hit the brakes following strengthening dollar after Donald Trump won the US presidential election last week.
This week, gold prices dropped by Rs 600 per tola on Sunday, Rs 1,000 on Monday, Rs 2,400 on Tuesday, Rs 400 on Wednesday and Rs 2,200 on Thursday.
Earlier on October 31, it had peaked in the domestic market to a record high of Rs 171,000 per tola. The record was set when preparations were in full swing for Tihar celebrations.
Silver’s price also rose by Rs 5 per tola on Friday to Rs 1,910 per tola, according to the federation.
