May 28: Nepal imported a total of 318,477 vehicles in the last fiscal year. The fact was revealed by the economic survey data presented by the Finance Minister in the parliament on Monday, May 27.
Data collected from 1989 to 2017 show that the country imported a total of 3.2 million vehicles in the last three decades. With the addition of over 300,000 vehicles in the last fiscal year, the total number of vehicles registered in Nepal has reached 3,539,519 as of FY 2017/18.
According to the economic survey data, 78.6 percent of the total vehicles in Nepal are motorcycles. Likewise, 557,298 people have been issued driving license this year.
