Government Slashes Cooking Gas Price

August 2: The government has reduced the price of cooking gas by Rs 25 per cylinder.

However, the price of petroleum products remains the same. With the adjustment, the new price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has now become Rs 1,325 per cylinder.

The new price has come into effect from August 1 midnight, informed Nepal Oil Corporation spokesperson Sitaram Pokharel.

According to Pokharel, NOC made a profit of Rs 338.6 million in the last 15 days from sale of petroleum products.

Pokharel further informed that even after reducing the price of LPG, the state-run fuel supplier will still make a profit of Rs 96 per cylinder. NOC currently earns a profit of Rs 4.84 by selling petrol at Rs 96 per liter while the profit from selling diesel at Rs 74 per liter is Rs 1.18.
