November 29: Nepal Telecom, which has been providing GSM service through VSAT technology in different districts, has now shifted to microwave technology. According to the telecom, it has already started providing service through microwave technology in some new places.

The telecom informed that it has been providing the new service by installing BTS in different places of eastern development region including Solukhumbu, Taplejung, Okhaldhunga, Udayapur, Morang, Jhapa, Saptari and Sunsari. VSAT technology could only provide voice packs to the consumers but with the new technology, the consumers can enjoy data packs as well, informed Nepal Telecom.
