Construction of NRB’s buildings expected to complete within 2 years

May 25: The initial process to construct two buildings of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) which were demolished by the massive earthquake of 2015 has started.

The central bank has started the construction of its two buildings in Thapathali and Baluwatar more than three years after the earthquake. The central bank has planned to construct the facade of the buildings similar to the old ones.

The central bank is planning to announce a global tender within a week for the construction of the building in Baluwatar. Meanwhile, the central bank had announced global tender to construct its Thapathali building on April 27.

The construction of both the buildings is expected to cost Rs 4 billion.  The central bank has planned to start the construction of both the buildings before the start of the festive season.

The construction is expected to complete within the next two years.
