CIAA finds Lumbini Gas Industry’s Land as Public Land

October 29: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has found that two ropanies, 15 aana and 2 daam land of Lumbini Gas Industry Pvt Ltd in Nawalparasi to be public property. The anti-graft body confirmed that company’s land with plot number 24 at Sarawal Rural Municipality- 1 belongs to the public. The CIAA on Sunday, October 28, filed a case at the Special Court against the people involved in registering the public property in the name of individual .

The CIAA has charged land revenue officer Manohar Prasad Panthi, non-gazetted officer Jivalal Bhusal and computer operator Eijaz Khan for misappropriating Rs 20.86 million stating that the officials were involved in forging the documents. The CIAA said the minimum worth of the land per kattha is Rs 720,000.

The CIAA has also filed casees against a representative of Lumbini Gas, Surendra Raj Paudyal, broker Yadav Prasad Bhandari and Sudan Shrestha who were also found involved in forging documents

The CIAA has demanded the land to remain as public property.
