Life insurance companies in Nepal collected a total of Rs 53.69 billion in insurance premiums in the first four months of the current fiscal year (FY 2024/25).
According to data released by the Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA), 17 companies, including 14 life insurance companies and 3 microinsurance companies, contributed to this total premium collection.
Nepal Life Insurance topped the list, earning Rs 15.4 billion in premiums during the review period. National Life Insurance secured the second position with Rs 6.43 billion in premiums, followed by Life Insurance Corporation Nepal with Rs 6.05 billion. Other major contributors include Himalayan Life Insurance with Rs 5 billion, Suryajyoti Life Insurance with Rs 3.25 billion, and Asian Life Insurance with Rs 2.74 billion in premiums.
Among the microinsurance companies, Guardian Life Insurance led the segment with Rs 119 million in premium collections. Crest Micro Life Insurance followed with Rs 111 million, and Liberty Micro Life Insurance earned Rs 70 million in premiums during the same period.
