The government has decided to provide free medical treatment to those injured in the pro-monarchy protest held in the capital last Friday.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung made the announcement on Tuesday while unveiling the decisions of the Council of Ministers held on March 28.
According to Minister Gurung, the Cabinet meeting also directed an investigation into the vandalism that occurred during the demonstrations and pledged action against those responsible. Additionally, measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
In another decision, the government approved a grant of 573 million Japanese Yen from Japan for the Dhulikhel Hospital Trauma and Emergency Service Center Improvement Project.
The Cabinet also endorsed the basis and format of revenue sharing for provinces and local levels for Fiscal Years 2025/26 to 2029/30. It approved the financial equalization grant to be transferred to the provinces and local levels for Fiscal Year 2025/26.
Furthermore, the Cabinet decided to appoint Choodamani Chapagain as the Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited. Similarly, Dr. Pradhuman Raj Pandey, a senior agricultural economist at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, has been named Executive Director of the Kalimati Fruit and Vegetable Market Development Committee. -- RSS
