Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli returned to Nepal on Friday, July 4, after attending the United Nations’ Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4), held in Seville, Spain, from June 30 to July 3.
He was received at the Tribhuvan International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh; Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Pandey; and Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal.
Prime Minister Oli had departed for Spain on June 28, leading a 21-member delegation, at the official invitation of UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
During his visit, PM held separate bilateral meetings with world leaders, including a courtesy call on King Felipe VI and a meeting with his Spanish counterpart Sánchez.
On the sidelines of the summit, the Prime Minister also engaged with heads of government, representatives from global and regional organisations, financial and trade institutions, business leaders, civil society, and UN officials.
Nepal presented its views on the development challenges faced by Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The conference focused on addressing immediate and long-term financing needs for sustainable development.
