Test flights were carried out at Tikapur Airport in Kailali district of Sudurpaschim Province on Monday, October 28.
Two aircrafts operated by Nepal Airlines and Tara Air flew to the airport in the morning, according to RSS, the state-owned news agency.
On the occasion, Minister of State for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Arun Kumar Chaudhary said that regular flights would resume in the airport immediately after the Tihar festival.
Brought into operation four decades ago, the airport saw regular flights only for the first three years.
Flights would also be conducted to the airports in the hilly districts of the Sudurpaschim Province, Chaudhary added.
